Principal Instructor: Erik D. Pakieser

Erik D. Pakieser has always worked in public safety.  He served 12 years in the US Army, including the 1989 Panama invasion as well as the 1991 Gulf War  After leaving Active Duty, he moved back to his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska where he worked as a Police Officer and EMT.  Since relocating to Minnesota, he has worked for the State of Minnesota since 2000, serving as a Corrections Officer, Emergency Manager, and Public Safety Director. 

In addition to training citizens, Erik has presented taught classes for numerous Minnesota public safety agencies and private sector clients.  He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration, is a Certified Business Continuity Professional and Certified Minnesota Emergency Manager. 

Erik is an NRA Instructor and Affiliate Instructor for Defense Training International. He also holds multiple instructor certifications from the Minnesota POST, the United States Army, Minnesota Department of Corrections, and the US Department of Homeland Security.

Erik’s favorite training classes are Force on Force, because “It’s an effective evaluation of student’s ability not just to shoot, but to avoid conflict, make decisions, recall details and articulate what happened..”  His favorite carry gun is the Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm.
