This course provides shooters with the basic knowledge needed to treat gunshots or other penetrating trauma. These techniques have been proven to save lives both on the battlefield and during domestic incidents and disasters. You have to be your own first responder!
You will learn how to assemble a kit suitable for treating wounds from gunshots, shrapnel, or other penetrating trauma and how to identify and treat the leading causes of death from traumatic injury. A variety of different types of equipment will be provided for students to practice with and try out.
All equipment will be provided for the class, but students are encouraged to bring their own kits to try them out and compare them with our recommendations.
You will learn:
- How to assemble and carry gunshot wound kit
- Common causes of gunshot wound fatalities and how to prevent them
- How to treat both yourself and another person
- Tactical considerations while wounded
This class will include hands-on use of first aid equipment and scenario-based training with dummy guns.
